RSMSC and SC Storm ANNOUNCE Merger
Orange County, CA - Today, we are pleased to announce that RSMSC and SC Storm Soccer Academy have jointly approved a merger in 2008. The new organization will be called RSM Storm Soccer Club and together the club will benefit substantially from combining administrative and coaching resources while improving the scope of the club’s image, its team’s competitive profiles and the progressive growth of its players. With over 2300 teams in Coast Soccer League vying for resources, RSMSC and SC Storm are excited to announce such an expansion. The decision was based upon the following vision:
- Club first mentality while operating administratively through the vision of ONE…
- Team success that will provide ongoing opportunities for players collectively to reach higher levels within the game that will enhance their passion for the sport of soccer…
- Individual player development under a professional curriculum that will provide each player the opportunity to expand their technical and tactical knowledge and growth of the game…
The philosophy of competitive soccer, player development, community and family involvement will continue. RSM Storm will promote the vision of ONE, to provide the highest quality club soccer experience for its players and families. Shaun Harris, RSMSC DOC-Technical Director, said; “This is an opportunity for two organizations to join together in order to have a superior presence in Orange County. It will allow us to expand the quality of our player pool and enhance the future development of all of our players.” He also stated that “player development philosophies and the community involvement of its players and families will have a more significant reflection on the game of youth soccer.” The new combined programs will provide an opportunity for players to individually develop and collectively grow as soccer players. Tom Wall, SC Storm’s Director of Coaching, said; “I am excited for all of the players who will continue within the new organization of RSM Storm Soccer Club, as well as provide an opportunity for other players to have the experience of competing in a true club soccer atmosphere, Tom added, “This will allow us to elevate all of our current teams and the new ones that will be added in 2008, while providing players the individual tools to grow at every level within the game.”
RSM Storm will redefine a quality club soccer experience that is about the club, player and family first. We will continue to develop soccer players and assist with their growth both on and off the field and within our community. The club looks forward to providing all its players and their families a positive, progressive and successful environment.
